Under a TCS agreement, IEEE Computer Society volunteers and members must actively participate in the meeting’s technical program committee. The IEEE Computer Society accepts no financial or legal liability for the meeting under Technical Co-Sponsorship.
Benefits of Technical Co-Sponsorship
IEEE Computer Society technical co-sponsorship lends the strength of the IEEE Computer Society brand for marketing and outreach, letting the community know the conference will feature high quality, cutting-edge research. Technical Co-Sponsorship approval provides the following, additional benefits.
- Use of the IEEE Computer Society logo on marketing materials and conference website.
- Opportunities to promote your conference via the sponsoring Technical Community and the IEEE Computer Society Marketing Team.
- Discount on the IEEE Computer Society’s Conference Publishing Services (CPS).
- Ability to submit conference content to ®IEEE Xplore.
- Ability to establish and grow the conference for potentially becoming a financially sponsored conference.
Technical Co-Sponsorship Fees
IEEE Computer Society: There is a non-refundable $350 USD IEEE Computer Society Technical Co-Sponsorship Fee due before application review. For conferences returning for their 4th consecutive year of Technical Co-Sponsorship, the fee is $1,000 USD.
IEEE: There is also an IEEE Technical Co-Sponsorship fee of $1450, depending on if the conference has sponsorship with other IEEE Societies.
Post-conference: If accepted for technical co-sponsorship, IEEE also charges a $22/paper fee upon submission of content to IEEE Xplore, depending on if the conference has sponsorship with other IEEE Societies.
Process and Requirements
Step 1
Reach out to the prospective Technical Community and fill out the Statement of Benefits, obtaining the corresponding Technical Community’s Chair’s signature.
- All conferences submitting for Technical Co-Sponsorship must obtain endorsement from a Technical Community and must have a signed Statement of Benefits.
Step 2
Submit Sponsorship Application and send signed Statement of Benefits to IEEE Computer Society TCS Staff.
- Conferences must submit an IEEE Sponsorship Application and must list the Technical Community that was chosen when completing the application.
- Conferences must also provide the signed Statement of Benefits to the IEEE Computer Society.
*Note: Application and Statement of Benefits must be completed and submitted at least six months prior to the conference’s start date.
Step 3
Payment of TCS Fees and Past Conference Questionnaire.
- Upon completion of the application and submission of the Statement of Benefits, conferences will receive information from IEEE Computer Society TCS Staff on how to process payment and submit a Past Conference Questionnaire.
- Conferences must submit both payment and the questionnaire at least three months prior to the conference’s start date.
Step 4
IEEE Computer Society Review.
- Once all items are received and the application is complete, the IEEE Computer Society TCS Staff will submit the conference to the Conferences Activities Committee (CAC) for their review.
- All conferences seeking Technical Co-Sponsorship must go through review by CAC and cannot reference IEEE Computer Society logos on any conference material until a decision has been made.
*Note: Part of the requirements is that the Conference must have a functioning conference website that includes important dates and a completed call for papers. The website must also have a full list of the Technical Program Committee.

- IEEE Computer Society strives to be inclusive in all conferences. Having international organizing and technical committees is important and taken into consideration during application review.
- It’s important to have a very defined conference scope that can be seen from a clear and concise Call for Papers.
- IEEE strives to ensure quality technical research. We will make sure the Conference is conducting a quality review looking at paper acceptance rate and the number of reviewers.
- Conference should ensure that the Conference does not have dates overlapping with IEEE conferences in the same subject area.
